SMS via ClickATell won’t work

[Deleted User][Deleted User]
Hi,

I've configured the SMS delivery with the credentials supplied by my ClickATell registration, but no messages at all are received by them for delivering.

I've tried with alert_sms.exe command, and I receive a log showing error [540] (No Protocol specified). The log seems as if the setup were for an attached modem instead sms provider:

Provider Id: 7

OpType: 30

TextLength: 160

Port: 3

ConnectionTimeout: 60

and in fact this reflects the smscommand.ini file content.

What can I check for this?

Thanks

Luca

    Dear Luca,

the alert_sms.exe is intended for SMS alerts through a data modem only (not for ClickATell)

Can you give me the content of your sms.conf file?

This should start with Internet and then the API settings

    Hi,

    the file content is:

    internet

    my_api-id<X<my_username<X>my_password

    All data are correct.

Can i check some logs to see what happens during call request?

    Ciao

When using ClickATell it performs via the SMTP protocol. You can check the logs in the alertslogging subdirectory

I've checked the log, and it states as follows:

date/time Serverblahblah is DOWN -> Sending SMTP alert to (my email)

date/time Serverblahblah is DOWN -> Sms via ClickATell

Nothing more. To see what's happening, I've disabled the embedded SMTP server and used our local one; I can see the log relevant to the emailed alert, but nothing about the sms.

    Bye

It uses the built-in server to send out the ClickATell notification. For this it needs to be able to retrieve the MX record of ClickATell.com from the DNS server.
