SMTP monitoring question

[Deleted User][Deleted User]

I an using serverscheck 5.1.0 (standard) and am having trouble setting up an SMTP test. I am using my own SMTP server, which is sendmail 8.12 running on Linux Slackware 9.1. I'm pretty sure that sendmail is configured correctly since I have been sending and receiving e-mail on it for quite some time now.

When I go into the configuration wizard and test the settings the serverscheck logfile says:

Could not send email through SMTP Server.

When I look at my sendmail logfile for the same transaction is says:

May 24 12:30:42 mordecai sm-mta[13275]: i4OHUg2e013275: [192.168.1.103] did not issue MAIL/EXPN/VRFY/ETRN during connection to MTA

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

From what I understand, your mail server did not accept the email connection made by the SMTP connection due to some missing command.

So far this has not been reported to us and as such we have not really an idea what it might be that your mail server requires from ServersCheck to send.

Has anyone else seen this problem with sendmail 8.12?
