Humidity Sensor Spiking Randomly

The fact that you have a random difference even of 10% is not normal for a server room.

It may be that one sensor is less sensitive than the other.

However it may be out of reach due to corrosion or other issues affecting the quality of the sensor. Our humidity sensors are Swiss made sensors and are normally very accurate.

You can request a RMA through our website at http://www.serverscheck.com/support

Our Servers are in a small room set at a consistent temperature. The Serverscheck Humidity and Temperature sensors are mounted on the inside of the racks. The Serverscheck Humidity sensor has been jumping from 33% to approximately 50% within a few minutes then back down to 30%. I have put an indoor humidity sensor next to the Serverscheck Humidity sensor and when the Serverscheck sensor is stable their is a 10% difference. Does this mean their is a problem with the Serverscheck Sensor? Is their any way to re-calibrate the Humidity sensor?

checked your order and it is out of warranty

this could indeed mean that corrosion (water), dust or some other environmental factors influence the accuracy of the sensor. it can be calibrated as explained in the user manual.

let me explain the rma process:

when one sends in a unit for repair, then the suspected defective unit is tested. the testing of a device sent through rma is free under warranty and subject to a service charge when out of warranty. if the unit is confirmed defective then it will be either repaired or replaced. such action is free under warranty and subject to a repair/replacement fee when out of warranty. if the unit is not found defective following a manufacturing defect, then any repair (inside warranty or not) is billable.
