W2K3 DCom config

[Deleted User][Deleted User]

Can anyone tell what the DCOM configuration should be on a W2K3 Server? Standard is everything off. On a W2K server is it one tab you should fill in for the Default Security, what object should I have on a W2K3 server?

Can you please clarify what you need DCOM for? (windows based checks?)

I'm trying to check diskspace and services. Strange is, that if I setup a check for CPU there is no problem.

WMI is being used by default to check windows based items. If you are experiencing issues then they are very often either related to security configuration of the host or the network between the ServersCheck computer and the remote host.

You might want to check on the Internet for some WMI/DCOM related information specific to your network/computer configuration.

However there are 2 other ways in obtaining the same information:

1/ Using the free SNMP4W2K add-on by collecting data through SNMP

    2/ Using Windows based counters

Can you tell me what specific windows based counters are. We're using the enterprise version of SC. I'm using the counters there available.

Here is a good site describing Microsoft's performance counters:
