We are experiencing a problem monitoring the (APPLICATION) eventlog, when this log contains over 2000 eventlog messages.

Serverscheck creates more than 8 instances of a eventlog_check process and these processes have a significant performance hit on the machine.

Is there any solution besides clearing out the eventlog before starting serverscheck.

    Can you run the service in interactive mode and see if there is any error dialog box open?



    How many event log rules are there defined?



    2000 event log messages is quite a lot to scan and requires time to process but I fear it is another issue as you have 8 open instances of ServersCheck.



    Is it the professional version?

    There is only one event log rule defined. We check only the APPLICATION event log.

    Yes, we are using the professional version.

    We will try to run the service in interactive mode and check for messages.
