SMS Settings

Horng JiunnHorng Jiunn
Hi there,

Previously I was running on ServersCheck 7.15.10 and the SMS works fine. However I've uninstalled the software and installed 8.5.1 but SMS feature is not working even though the similar settings were configured.

I've chosen GSM & 3G Modem and while performing a test send, the ServersCheck Monitoring Service will hang and I will have to restart the service to continue.

Any ideas?

HJ

    Hey Administrator

I've just performed update to version 8.5.5.

    1) Although the I am able to perform SMS Test through the configuration page but when when any of my monitors are down, SMS was not triggered. Email and MSN notification works perfect.

    2) I am configuring via Win2003/IE7 and Win7/IE8, it returned me errors such as 'Object doesn't support this property or method' from the monitors' test settings page and 'Object expected' from the monitor details page. No problems with firefox though.

    Thanks for the help.

    Firefox is the recommended browser

Run the alerting module in debug mode as explained here:

    http://kb.serverscheck.com/index.php?page=index_v2&id=42&c=6

Trigger a monitor to fail for which SMS alerting was defined

Reply with output stored in the debug file and the output sent to the s-alerts.exe console window

    Hi Administrator

On a sidenote, can I check if

    1) the ping function is sent using the default 32 bytes of data

    2) am i able to amend the size of the ICMP packets sent

PING uses indeed 32bytes. The packet size can't be modified
