hello, i cannot get the email alerts working.

using internal smtp server it reports connection to port 25 not possible. if using external smtp relay which is our own and located on same LAN segment as serverscheck, the serverscheck software is hanging, ie not responsive for a while and no email is send.



The AV software has been disabled for this test, the SMTP relay server is forwarding smtp from other systems without problems

    The internal mail server is a built-in mail server. It will directly over the Internet deliver the email. This requires port 25 to be allowed by your ISP - typically when firewall or AV software aren't blocking it.

    ok that is clear, but why can't i use the external mail relay server which we host on our lan ? (serverscheck software is not responsive then). This is the other option.

    pls note that logging in is not required with our smtp relay.

    Probably because something is blocking the connection on your system causing the time out.

    yes, you were right, the email system administrator allowed only certain ip's for relay, its working now
