Executing an application on Alert

Is there a limit to the number of characters that can be used in "Parameters:" field of the "Execute an Application" feature in the alert definition? When an alert occurs, I'm trying to execute a command line application that requires several parameters. I can enter them in the web interface, but they will be cut-off after I click save. I can enter them directly into the serverscheck.conf file and it will work fine. However, if I go back into the rule definition and click the "save settings" button (even if I haven't gotten into the alerts definition), the entry for the application and it's parameters are blanked out.
