Failover Configuration

We have been using ServersCheck for some time now but we now require a failover ServersCheck system to be configured. I already have the failover license, what do I need to do to configure a failover system and is it possible for the failover system to some checks on its own?

Yes that's perfectly possible. Just configure the fail-over one to perform serverscheck.conf file to perform the checks you want.



If you want to perform on failure also the other checks, then it becomes a bit more tricky:

1/ Create rule that monitors your primary one

2/ Then create a batch file to rename the current serverscheck.conf file and to rename the copy of the main one to serverscheck.conf

3/ stop the monitoring service and restart it



Batch is then executed on a on failure rule (in the alert options - execute external app)
