Event Log Monitoring

I am trying to monitor the event log and looking at threads on this topic it seams to search old > New.



Example.



I want to check to see if the Backup was successful last night.



Event ID is 34112 but need a date time frame or it will return the first one it comes across which may not be the one from last night backup.



Running Version 6.8.2

    When a match can be found an alert is triggered. Cycle your event log.

    By cycle event log I presume you mean purge it ?



    This is not an ideal option.

    Archiving it, not deleting it. Event log has an option to save it to a file rather than deleting it.

    Can this be automated ? from the alert ?

    No as this would touch the very nature of an alert: when a problem is detected it stays DOWN until the problem has been solved by the recipient of the alert.
