Drivespace checking

SHarrisSHarris
Hi

We have just implemented Serverscheck Prof. v. 6.8.2. It is running on a standalone windows 2003 R2 server and should check multiple servers across several domains. The service is started with the local Administrator account.

Our problem is that we doesn't seem to be able to check for anything else than PING req. When configuring a DRIVESPACE check it will after some time respond with DOWN? "RPC server is unavailable".

Now, I'm new to ServersCheck and maybe it is the syntax. Can anyone help me getting this right?

Thanks in advance.

See knowledge base article on topic. This should help you.

It is a Windows protocol configuration issue.

Is netbios installed -> No, it isn't.

Rest of the questions are ok.

We perform server checks across vpn-tunnels and across domains. And cannot route Netbios. The Serverscheck-server is not member of any domains. Should it be a domain server?

Could you check this example. I would check

    Computername: 172.22.250.10

    Username: domainadmin

    Password: pwd

    drive: C

Should the syntax be any different?

Netbios is required as it is a key component of the WMI protocol. Without Netbios activated you won't be able to remotely query a machine in an agentless way.
