Perfcount

trevorwtrevorw
Hi,

I am looking at starting to use Perfcount to Get CPU % as the CPU rule seams unreliable, ie showing 100% more often than not.

When I configure Perfcount I have to enter a username and password despite the service running with domain admin privilidges.

Any suggestions.

Trevor

Now using 6.10 Enterprise MX2

As mentioned in earlier posts this is required due to the nature of the way these checks work:

1/ You need extra privileges (not local system account) to enable a service to connect to remote systems

2/ You then authenticate yourself against that machine. You have a same username/password for all systems but in many environments - especially DMZ - these are different from one system to the other

this is valid for all Windows based checks

    Hi,

    I spotted that.

So if I understand correctly the Perfcount check requires it's own username password on systems despite the service using a Domain Privilidged acoc**t.

Is ther any reson the CPU Rule does not reliably give the CPU usage ?
