ServersCheck Monitor Software & MOM 2005

vaneijkvaneijk
Dear All,

I just installed ServersCheck Monitor Software on a server were also Microsoft Operating Manager 2005 has been installed on.

It seems that the ServersCheck Monitor Software is using port 1272 which been used already by MOM2005.

How can I change the port 1272 into something else?

greetings Paul

Create a file called serverscheck.port in your main ServersCheck directory.

Open it with notepad and enter on the first line the port number you would like to use.

    Restart the service.

Please note that it is highly recommended to run ServersCheck on a dedicated system for higher availability.

    Hi Admin,

When I went to the location:

    C:Program FilesServersCheck_Monitoring

There was already a file called "serverscheck.port" . After I changed the port number into 2272 and rebooted the server. It still went to the website: http://localhost:1272

    What to do now?

Have you tried connecting to port 2272 instead of 1272?

    http://localhost:2272

Run the s-server.exe in debug mode:

    http://kb.serverscheck.com/index.php?page=index_v2&id=38&c=root

The debug information should give you information about the port the configuration server is started on.

ServersCheck has always used port 1272 before Microsoft came on the market with their competing product: MOM2005...

I do not see any info about the port.

Changing the port does not work in the trial version.

You need a registered license for this
  • vaneijkvaneijk
Oh sorry I had forgotten to put the license into the directory. After I did this and rebooted the server I had the same problem.

I will do a debug again

    Hi Admin,

After I did the debug the port was active, but the shortcut on the desktop still went to the old port number.

When I stop the debug I still was able to go directly to the new port but the shortcut was still going to the old port.

The shortcut is not modified by this trick.
  • vaneijkvaneijk
Ok thanks I have made a shortcut my self.

    Thanks for your help
